Considering working conditions and working pressure Metal Expansion Joints are usually working in temperature range from -200 °C up to +550 °C sometimes even up to + 950°C or +1050.
Hosemann’s Compensators ( Expansion Joint ) are produced by follow EJMA standard in according to EN 14917:2009 Metal bellows expansion joints for pressure application.
Usually Metal Expansion Joints – Metal Bellows Compensators produced / supplied by Hosemann are made of stainless steel SUS321, sometimes SUS304 or SUS316, or when we proposing Metal Expansion Joints for high temperature we using SUS310S steel what give us max working temperature for Hosemann’s Expansion Joint going up to +1050 °C (we advice you to contact our technical specialists)
Fabric Compensators are some alternative for Metal Bellow Compensators especially where you deal with high vibration compensation expectations or you do have applications like engine or blower starting / stopping often, so metal or rubber compensator can be damaged because of to high frequency amplitude moment. Fabric Expansion Joints can be made of such materials like aluminosilicate (+1240 °C), glass fibre (+550 °C), silicon (+220 °C), PTFE (+250 °C), sometimes some steel fibre braid as reinforcement.
In our Fabric Expansion Joints production range are maybe 20 different material types with different thickness, density and different overall heat transfer coefficient and all this influence right construction with typical Fabric Expansion Joints sizes up to DN4000 mm.
Rubber Expansion Joints made of EPDM rubber ( Working temperature up to +120 °C ) are most common choice in Hosemann offer, we sometimes supply high quality NBR Rubber Expansion Joints, on request CR Rubber Expansion Joints. ( Rubber Expansion Joint typical sizes DN25- DN1200 ).
Special Construction Customized Expansion Joint are produced on request.
Please remember, If you decide to use any Expansion Joint always remember that you need to use working pressure reduction factors when you expecting working temperature going up/down from ambient.
